The Interdepartmental Recovery Fund (IRF) is now accepting proposals for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
Established in 2002, the IRF allocates approximately $ 1.5 million per year to projects that recover species at risk and protect their habitats. It provides a central funding mechanism to support projects submitted by Other Federal Government Departments (OGD), which include agencies and crown corporations, other than Environment and Climate Change Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Parks Canada, for the purpose of implementing priority recovery activities or conducting surveys on species at risk that must be on OGD lands, including waters. Thus, only people with a federal government address can register on the IRF website.
Application forms and guidelines can be obtained from the IRF Secretariat. Completed application forms should no longer be submitted through the online system. Inquiries related to the application form as well as submission of the completed application form should be done through the IRF email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Confirmation of receipt of each application will be sent within 7 days; a file number will be assigned to facilitate future correspondence.
